Getting in great shape is about knowledge and application. Once you gain the knowledge and begin to apply it, it's only a matter of time until you have your dream body.

I wasn't always in great shape. In fact, I've spent time as both a skinny guy (135 pounds in high school) and someone with a weight problem (up to 218 pounds at 5'6"). Over time, I found solutions to these problems and overcame them...and since then I've helped countless men do the same!

My journey in fitness was not an easy one. During the late 90's and early 2000's there was very little science based fitness information. It was definitely an era of "broscience."
 

For years I spun my wheels and didn't understand the value of things like progressive resistance, recovery, and nutrition. I was confused by the roles of protein, carbs, and fats. Everyone was saying something different and it was hard to tell truth from fitness propaganda.

 

Then, around 2008 I found the evidence based fitness community and my fitness lifestyle (and the way I trained my clients) changed forever! I began to understand how the human body worked in a more scientific manner.

​Thanks to guys like Alan Aragon and Brad Schoenfeld (among others), I finally understood how to help my clients achieve the body of their dreams without sacrificing their lifestyle and sanity.

My Own Before And After

This set of photos should show you that my fitness journey hasn't all been sunshine and roses. This set of photos was taken around 2009. The first pic was after I had fallen off the wagon pretty bad. The second picture was the result of my regaining focus and losing about 35 pounds. I've stayed very close to my after picture weight since then!

Off To The Races...

After learning the ins and outs of Personal Training I began getting more and more opportunities to get guys into amazing shape. Along the way I made over 40 television news appearances on ABC, NBC, and CBS discussing the fitness and nutrition strategies I use to get my clients fantastic results fast.
